I can hardly believe that we are approaching our last week of school. Everyone who is part of our St. Nicholas School family has done an exceptional job of keeping us safe and learning in-person the entire year! I truly appreciate that everyone supported all the measures we were required to put in place even when they did not align with your own personal beliefs.
Next week will be a little bit crazy at school with lots of events happening for different grades, especially our 8th graders! The last week of school is always bittersweet for everyone, but more so when you know you won't be returning to your friends, teachers and the place that made you feel safe and loved.
FIELD DAY - WE WILL HOLD FIELD DAY ON MONDAY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. This means that if it is sprinkling or we have spotty showers, we will have our morning events. You are welcome to send a change of clothes if you are concerned with your child staying in possibly damp clothing for the entire day.Special thanks to Christine Meinders for chairing this event and all the volunteers who will be here helping that day. Christine and her crew have done an amazing job!
Just a reminder - dismissal on Friday, May 21st is at 11:30am unless you are in kindergarten, 8th grade or have a sibling in those grades and are leaving early. Report cards will be sent home this day as well. In addition, you will find a Summer Reading Challenge BINGO board. I would like to challenge all students to get at least one straight line. You will find more details on the BINGO page itself. Happy Reading!!
We anticipate a very busy summer on campus with the delivery, install and set-up of the preschool modular and new furniture for the entire school! This is in addition to getting everything inside the modular ready to greet our first class of Tiny Saints.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend -- only five days left and we will have officially survived the year of COVID!!

Free Summer Meals Program
Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools will participate in the Free Summer Meals Program, in which meals will be available from May 19 through June 30. Five breakfasts and five lunches will be distributed free of charge each week to all household members who are 18 years of age and younger. Meals will be distributed on a first come first serve basis on Wednesdays from 8:30 until 9:30 am, with pickup located near Door 14 at East Central High School. The free meals program is designed to provide nutritious meals to children when school is not in session. This program is open to the community, not just students at Sunman Dearborn Schools.
